Funerals and Memorials

A compassionate goodbye, delivered with dignity and love.

Losing someone you love is never easy. Having lived through many losses myself – I truly understand. I’m here to help you create a service that tells you loved one’s story authentically and, I hope, beautifully. With high sensitivity and empathy, I take the time to listen, support, and guide you through the process – at your pace.

How does it work?

We’ll have an initial meeting – this can be in person or on a video call if you’d prefer. The purpose of this is to answer any questions you may have, to chat about your loved one and to plan what kind of ceremony you’d like. As an independent celebrant I am mainly asked to run non-religious ceremonies, however if there are hymns / psalms you’d like in the order of service, I’m very happy to oblige. You may also want to consider if there are any other pieces of music / poems / readings you’d like to include. If you’re short on inspiration, then I can provide ideas on these too.

During the meeting I’ll take notes so that I can capture as much information as possible so that I can write a detailed eulogy that reflects the essence of who they were. I’ll write a first draft script – which you’ll review and make any changes you wish. We can tweak this as much as you like to ensure it feels just right to you. I’ll also liaise with the Funeral Directors to ensure they are kept up to speed with all aspects of how the ceremony will run.

On the day of the funeral itself, I’ll be at the venue c30 minutes ahead of time and will liaise with all necessary parties to ensure the smooth running of the ceremony.

In terms of the ceremony itself, you can expect me to provide:

✔️ An accurate and thoughtfully written tribute
✔️ Support with readings, music, and structure
✔️ A warm, professional and respectful delivery

Together we will give your loved one the best possible send-off…
